Are you constantly misplacing your cell phone?  Is your phone either off or on silent when you need it most?  If you answered yes to both of these questions then you need a phone tracker!  This handy device is a little chip attached to your phone that will be hooked up to a remote where you can make the phone flash color or beep in order to make it easier for you to find it.  Also, by using twitter you will be able to locate where your phone is at all times.
On the remote there is a button that will send the location, meaning exact address, of where the phone is through twitter. One will be able to click a button on the remote and the location of the phone will show up on the twitter on a computer. Currently on twitter, twitter has the ability to recognize locations and when you send tweets the exact location with a map pops up on the bottom of the tweet. Therefore I do not think it is a far off concept for the phone to be able to tweet its location from the click of a button.
Social Media is the most used internet source. Therefore by using twitter, the new up and coming social trend, this product will be in high demand. Currently twitter is used for recruiting people, promoting businesses, and learning about problems before they occur. With the phone tracker we will be using twitter directly for the services and we will also be able to promote the brand constantly by putting our logo under every tweet that is tweeted from a lost cellphone. Also, we will be able to use twitter to hear what people think about our new product and whether we think that it will be successful.
While we are uncertain about the future of twitter, social media is growing by the day. As of now twitter is a growing trend all over the world. My teacher said that last year only a few people had twitters and when he asked the question again today in class around 100 of us had one. This just shows that the number of users is increasing by the day so we will be able to reach more people with the product by using twitter. However, whether twitter exists or not there are many other social media websites which in my opinion are not as prosperous at the moment.  As time progresses, media will change and when the time comes, we will begin to use another social site to promote the phone tracker.

  1. This is an up and coming problem especially with all of the sensitive information that is on cell phones now and days. You should check out two other products/services that might relate to your product. The first one is "where's my droid" which is an app that when activated remotely, even if your phone is on silent, it will make it ring at the loudest levels. Also Apple has a tracking system built in so that if you loose for instance your iPad you can locate it via GPS even if it is off. You can also erase all of it's content remotely through a web based interface. If you could integrate this directly with social media, i think there is a lot you could do with the application. Just keep refining the idea, you're on the right track.

  2. People have spent much time with their phones and in so doing have also establish the use of their phone as note taker. In their phone you can find part of their life's memory. People have very private things saved to recall at their finger tip. Some memory you can't afford to loose at no cost. Much more some very sensitive stuff on that phone which could be personal or job related . So if you really bring fort this idea, I think it will find its market place. But, you will need an establish company with such similarity to help birth your idea.

  3. I really love your new idea since I am too always loosing my phone! But my question is what if you don't use Twitter? What are other ways to locate your phone right now besides using Twitter? I think if you could find other ways to locate your phone besides Twitter and a remote than the success of your product will be higher! Also, think about older people who loose their phones, they most likely don't use social media websites so how will they find their lost phones if they are not in tact with today's technology?

  4. This sounds like a really good idea, i used something like this the other week, its called find my iPad, and you log on your computer online and it will tell you the exact location of your iPad.Im pretty sure they provide this feature for the iPhone and your computer too, but the fact that it is limited to apple products can be really frustrating. I like the fact that you would be able to use this with any phone. I would be worried about who could see where my phone was, or where i was, as sometimes i just don't want people knowing where i am, or where i left my phone!
